Pilots and visitors are welcome to use the red soil airsrip adjacent to the shearers quarters. Kilcowera's main airstrips are listed in the AOPA Airfield Directory. BY ROAD - THE DOWLING TRACK

The station is one hours drive (90 kilometres)south of Thargomindah on the well maintained, mainly gravel, Thargo - Hungerford road and is usually assessable by conventional vehicle as well as 4 WD. However some of the station tracks require a high clearance vehicle.

Use Kilcowera as a base for day visits to Currawinya National Park, the village of Hungerford, Thargomindah, Bindegolly NP, Yowah opal fields, Eulo and Noccundra on the banks of the Wilson River.
