Pilots and visitors are welcome to use the red soil airsrip adjacent to the shearers quarters. Kilcowera's main airstrips are listed in the AOPA Airfield Directory. The station is one hours drive (90 kilometres)south of Thargomindah on the well maintained, mainly gravel, Thargo - Hungerford road and is usually assessable by conventional vehicle as well as 4 WD. However some of the station tracks require a high clearance vehicle.

Use Kilcowera as a base for day visits to Currawinya National Park, the village of Hungerford, Thargomindah, Bindegolly NP, Yowah opal fields, Eulo and Noccundra on the banks of the Wilson River.
